About the Photographer: Don Alman
Don Alman is a New York based artist working in photography and film media.
He was educated at Rutgers, with several years at Columbia University's special writing program, before attending the masters program at Mason Gross School of the Arts
Teaching credits include 4 years at Rutgers, teaching several classes a semester, and then several years at the New York Botanical Gardens, teaching nature photography and lighting.
From the late 1980's until the late 1990's, he taught Intro, Intermediate, View Camera and Studio Photography at Nassau Community College on Long Island.
During this time period he also worked as a custom printer and studio assistant for many high end photographers in NY, as well as camera and lighting for the 3 major TV networks, in film and video.
Health concerns in the late 1990's led to multiple surgeries that have curtailed all but his personal work, presented here.
He lives in Brooklyn, with his wife and 2 daughters.
